The Transcontinental Railroad was the main artery connecting the mines of California to cities back east.
It disrupted buffalo migration patterns and the way Native Americans hunted them.
The railroad made it incredibly easy and lucrative to kill buffalo in the plains and then send the skins back east.
Kwahadi led an attack against buffalo hunters at the Battle of Adobe Walls. This was a battle in the Red River Wars.
The invention of the "Iron Horse" marked the beginning of the end of the buffalo.
